Class 1 Long Haul Driver — Temporary, $31.50/hr

WM is hiring a temporary Long Haul Driver (CDL Class A / Class 1) to run medical waste routes out of Dartmouth, NS. You'll haul waste between WMHS or customer sites and transfer or processing locations, Monday through Thursday.

What you'll haul

• Medical waste, moved between pickup points and transfer or processing facilities

• You'll plan your day using manifests, route sheets and prior vehicle condition reports from your supervisor or dispatcher

Requirements

• Class 1 or CDL Class A license (Class 1/A-Z also accepted)

• About 1 year of experience driving vehicles of 5 tons or more; graduates of an accredited driving school preferred

• Must be able to get a medical card from a certified examiner

• Comfortable reading, writing and speaking English well enough to deal with the public, read traffic signs and fill out paperwork

• May need specific immunizations or credentials depending on the customer site

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Must pass pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep accurate, legible paperwork

• This is a safety-sensitive role subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment, random, post-incident and reasonable-suspicion checks
