Class 1 Heavy Haul Driver — $35.00–$40.00/hr

Our company needs an experienced Class 1 driver to haul heavy equipment, oversized loads, tanks, trailers and specialized freight across Atlantic Canada, Ontario and occasionally into the United States. You'll run lowboy, step-deck, flatbed and Roll-Tite trailers and handle everything from securement to customer communication.

Pay

• $35.00-$40.00 per hour

What you'll haul

• Heavy equipment, oversized loads, tanks, trailers and other specialized freight

• Lowboy, step-deck, flatbed and Roll-Tite trailer combinations

• Routes throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, with occasional trips into the US

What the job involves

• Running full pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections

• Securing loads properly and staying on top of permit rules

• Planning your own routes and schedules for safe, on-time delivery

• Keeping in touch with dispatch, customers and teammates throughout each run

• Filling out all paperwork accurately and on schedule

• Keeping your truck clean and presentable

• Following hours-of-service rules and company safety procedures

• Pitching in on loading and unloading when needed

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 licence with Air Brake endorsement

• At least 5 years driving tractor-trailer combinations commercially

• Hands-on experience with heavy, oversized or specialized freight

• Comfortable operating lowboy, step-deck, flatbed or Roll-Tite trailers

• Clean, up-to-date driver's abstract

• Willing and able to travel across Atlantic Canada, Ontario and other regions as needed

• Valid Canadian passport, or able to get one, for occasional cross-border runs

• Solid grasp of load securement rules and transportation safety standards

• Strong communication, customer service and time-management skills

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced setting

• Familiarity with electronic logs and transportation software is a plus
