Class 1 Cross-Border Truck Driver — Home Weekly

Our company, based in Sydney, Nova Scotia, needs Class 1 drivers for cross-border runs between Canada and the USA. Most routes are scheduled so you're home weekly, and you'll be pulling reefer trailers.

Pay

• Pay ranges from $40,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year, based on your experience

Home time

• Most drivers run set schedules that bring them home each week

What you'll haul

• Reefer trailers, running freight within Canada and into the USA

Requirements

• At least 25 years old

• Can pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test

• Valid passport

• Clean criminal background and motor vehicle check, plus drug and alcohol records from employers over the last 3 years

• At least 2 years of verifiable Class 1 tractor-trailer experience

• Comfortable following instructions and understanding rules and procedures in English

• Willing to travel about 75% of the time

What the job involves

• Following federal and provincial safety and compliance rules

• Spotting and handling safety risks on the road

• Keeping accurate paperwork and electronic logs

• Loading or unloading freight when a customer requires it

• Other tasks as needed
