About this job
Drive refrigerated trailers on local routes out of Manteca, CA, and get back home every day. You'll handle freight with care and keep safety and compliance front and center.
Pay
- $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Home time
- Home daily, working out of your local hub
What you'll haul
- Refrigerated trailers, with some runs involving flatbed equipment
- Freight that may include automobile parts and other general cargo
- Some loads may involve hazardous materials, handled per FMCSA rules
Requirements
- Valid CDL, endorsements preferred
- Solid background in commercial driving, delivery, or freight hauling, including OTR routes
- Comfortable with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tractor-trailers, or tankers
- Working knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and hazmat rules
- Confident with GPS-based route navigation
- Able to safely load, unload, and secure cargo by hand
- Clean driving record with a consistent safety track record
What the job involves
- Running tractor-trailer and flatbed equipment on local, over-the-road routes
- Loading and unloading freight safely, including any hazardous materials, per DOT and FMCSA standards
- Following GPS-planned routes to stay on schedule
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections for DOT compliance
- Keeping accurate logs, delivery records, and reports
- Staying in touch with dispatch on route progress and any issues on the road
