About this job
Our company in Los Angeles, CA needs a dependable CDL driver for over-the-road runs. You'll haul freight to assigned destinations while keeping everything safe, documented and on schedule.
What you'll do
- Drive commercial trucks on OTR routes, handling the vehicle safely at all times
- Check the truck before and after each trip to confirm it's roadworthy and DOT-compliant
- Get loads to their destinations on time, handling cargo carefully and accurately
- Load and unload freight using safe procedures that avoid damage or injury
- Keep delivery and driver logs current and accurate per DOT rules
- Stay within federal, state and local trucking laws on every run
- Stay in touch with dispatch, customers and coworkers about schedules or route problems
- Keep your truck clean and in good shape during your shift
Requirements
- Valid CDL with the endorsements needed for the equipment you'll drive
- Solid background driving commercial trucks, including OTR experience
- Familiarity with DOT rules and trucking safety practices
- Able to load and unload cargo efficiently and safely
- Organized, with careful attention to paperwork and compliance records
- Clean driving record with a strong safety mindset
- Physically able to manage loading/unloading and extended time on the road
