About this job
Our company is looking for an over-the-road driver to haul freight across long distances out of Los Angeles, CA. You'll run tractor-trailers, including reefer, flatbed and tanker equipment, and help keep deliveries on time and safe.
Pay
- $9,000.00 to $12,000.00 per month
What you'll haul
- Refrigerated trailers, flatbeds and tankers
- Automobile parts and other specialized loads
- Hazardous materials, when applicable
What you'll do
- Plan routes and navigate using GPS for efficient, on-time delivery
- Load and unload cargo safely, using proper securement and handling methods
- Follow FMCSA, DOT and hazmat rules when transporting dangerous goods
- Keep accurate logs, delivery paperwork and trip reports
- Perform routine truck inspections and flag maintenance issues
Requirements
- Valid CDL; hazmat, tanker or refrigerated endorsements preferred
- Solid background in commercial truck driving and freight transport
- Comfortable with manual transmissions and manual freight handling
- Experience with GPS and route planning on long hauls
- Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance and hazmat handling
- Strong safety focus, with good hazard awareness and judgment on the road
