About this job
Our company is looking for independent contractors to move units on OTR routes across the country. You pick the loads that work for your schedule, running solo (despite the company name, there are no team driving assignments here). This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a company driver or owner-operator role.
Pay
- Earn $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge for most divisions, with exact rates depending on the load and division
- Same-day pay is available once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities include referral, clean inspection, mileage, load and safety bonuses
Schedule and workload
- You choose which loads to run, but need to stay active by completing 3 to 5 loads each month
- Expect to run 2 to 5 loads monthly while keeping control over your schedule
- Loads typically range from 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- Weekly check-ins with your dispatcher are required, even during weeks you're not hauling
What you'll haul
Our company runs several divisions: Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B (deck positions need a Double/Triple endorsement)
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the last 3 years; deck roles need 2 years OTR experience plus 1 year of decking/un-decking experience in that same window
- Rideshare or delivery app driving does not count toward your experience
- A reasonably clean driving record and steady work history
- Ability to supply DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of companies hauled for in the last 3 years
- Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules, with daily logs kept current through the Motive app (paper logs aren't accepted)
- Your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking trucks
- On-time submission of paperwork and strong communication with dispatch
- On-time arrival for every pickup and delivery
- A professional, positive approach to the work
- Use of MacroPoint for real-time load tracking
- Proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections and photo documentation on every load
- You cover your own fuel costs and should keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required (details provided during the application process)
Benefits
This is a 1099 contractor position, so no employee benefits are included.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
