About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-B truck driver to run local routes out of Alexandria, LA, delivering US Mail on tailgate deliveries. You'll be home every day and paid weekly.
Pay
- Weekly pay totaling $959 to $1153
- Base hourly rate of $27.40 plus a $5.55 per hour health and wellness stipend
- Average of 30 to 35 hours per week
- Paid training included
Schedule
- Monday through Saturday
- Start times between 4:15 AM and 10:00 AM
- Local, home daily route
What you'll haul
- Solo driving to Shreveport, Alexandria, Texarkana and Monroe
- 26-foot straight truck
- US Mail, tailgate deliveries
- Pallet jack and rolling carts used for the work, with our company providing training on all equipment
- Trucks are 36 months old or newer, backed by 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 locations nationwide
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid CDL with required endorsements
- Verifiable Class A or Class B tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years, or 5 years in the last 10 years
- Able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol history from past employers over the last 3 years), and a our company road test
- Able to follow instructions and apply relevant laws, rules and procedures
- Because this route serves USPS, you'll also need to pass a Federal Level 2 background screen for site access, and male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with Selective Service unless legally exempt
Responsibilities
- Following applicable laws, regulations and company standards
- Spotting and addressing safety hazards
- Keeping accurate logs and records
- Helping load or unload freight when the customer requires it
- Other duties as assigned
