CDL-B Local Truck Driver — $27.36/hr

Our company in Jacksonville, FL 32254 is looking for a CDL-B driver to run local straight truck routes, handling freight and customer deliveries on an afternoon shift.

Pay

• Starts at $27.36/hour

• Classified as Motor Carrier Act Exempt

Schedule

• Afternoon shift, Monday through Friday

• Shifts can run 12-14 hours and may include day, night or weekend work as needed

• May drive up to 11 consecutive hours in any weather, hauling both hazardous and non-hazardous materials

What you'll haul

• You'll pilot a straight truck rated 26,001 lbs. GVWR/GVW or higher

• Duties include loading and unloading freight, using a forklift and pallet jack, and following state rules for intrastate straight truck operation

• You'll also interact with customers and help generate sales leads

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• Valid Class B CDL with no air brake restriction

• Clean driving history

• Must pass a DOT drug screen with no past positive results or refusals

• Must pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-employment physical skills test

• Need or must be able to get a Federal Medical Certificate and self-certify as Non-Exempt Interstate

• Must hold, or obtain within 90 days of starting, hazmat and tank endorsements (having them already is a plus)

• Able to read and speak English well enough to talk with the public, read traffic signs, answer official questions and complete reports

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and over 75 lbs. occasionally, climb in and out of the truck, stand or sit for long stretches, work outdoors in any weather, and perform bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling and similar movements
