CDL-A Waste Transport Driver — Port Allen, LA

Our company is looking for a CDL-A driver in Port Allen, LA to haul waste materials between job sites and disposal locations using company trucks and trailers. You'll handle the paperwork for each pickup and delivery, keep accurate travel logs per DOT rules, and load, secure and unload waste safely.

What you'll do

• Operate heavy trucks and equipment to move waste to and from designated sites

• Load, secure and unload materials following safety and security standards

• Complete pre-trip, in-transit and post-trip checks and basic equipment cleaning/maintenance

• Flag any equipment defects or needed repairs to your supervisor

• Decontaminate equipment that's been exposed to hazardous or toxic materials

• Keep required logs and paperwork current (driver logs, field tickets, inspection reports)

• Follow company and OSHA safety rules on every job

• Maintain the certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs

• Complete annual medical monitoring

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license with Class A CDL endorsement

• Clean driving record with no violations in the past 3 years

• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred

• HAZWOPER certification preferred

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required

• Comfortable working in extreme hot or cold temperatures and around hazardous materials/equipment

• Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb throughout the shift

• Able to lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally

Schedule

Full-time, on call 24/7 with overtime eligibility. Travel is mostly local during the day, with some out-of-area and overnight trips expected.
