About this job
Our company is looking for new CDL-A holders in Fresno, CA to train into a western regional driving job. Routes stay short, usually no more than 2 days from home, and you get paid while you learn.
How training works
- You ride along with a driver trainer and work real loads
- Training pay is $650 per week
- Once your trainer clears you, you move into your own truck at full pay
- Your first 3 months driving solo are guaranteed at $1,000 per week
What you'll haul
- Dry van loads running through the 11 western states
- Typically 1,700 to 2,100 miles weekly
- Home every 2 weeks
- You can pick up extra miles by running beyond the western region if you want
Pay
- Weekly pay usually runs $1,000 to $1,300 on average
- Mileage rate increases as you gain experience
- Performance bonus adds up to 6 cents per mile
- $15 paid for each stop
Benefits
- Medical, dental and vision coverage kicks in after 30 days
- 401k with a company match
- Paid time off
- $300 for orientation, plus your travel there is covered
Requirements
Two paths in: if you're newly licensed, you need 120+ hours of training from an accredited CDL school, then you'll do paid trainer-led driving before going solo. If you already have experience (6 months OTR in the past year, or 12 months in the past 5 years), you skip training and start in your own truck right away.
Everyone must hold a Class A CDL, be at least 21, have no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years, and be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
