CDL-A Truck Driver — Home Daily, $28.61/hr, Saint Rose, LA

Our company is hiring a CDL-A truck driver in Saint Rose, LA to run tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples. You'll be home every day on a day shift schedule.

Pay

• Starting pay is $28.61/hour

• This role is classified as Motor Carrier Act Exempt

Schedule

• Home daily

• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 18:00

• Be ready for a flexible workday of up to 12-14 hours, which may include days, nights and weekends

What you'll do

• Drive a tractor-trailer, including doubles and triples configurations, safely across various weather conditions

• Load and unload freight

• Deliver strong customer service and help generate sales leads

• Be behind the wheel for as long as 11 straight hours while hauling hazardous and non-hazardous materials

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• Valid Class A CDL

• Clean driving history

• Willing to get hazmat, tank vehicle and doubles/triples endorsements within 90 days of starting (already having them is a plus)

• Able to pass a DOT drug screen, with no failed tests or refusals in the past 3 years

• Valid DOT Medical Certification Card, or ability to pass a company-paid DOT physical

• Forklift experience is a plus

• Must read and speak English well enough to talk with the public, understand road signs and signals, answer official questions, and complete written reports, per Department of Labor rules

Physical demands

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally over 75 lbs.; maneuver a converter dolly that averages about 128 lbs. of pull force

• Climb into and out of the cab and trailer safely

• Sit for long stretches while driving or operating a forklift

• Stand and walk for extended periods, sometimes on uneven or slick ground, including outdoors in bad weather

• Bend, twist, kneel, squat, push, pull and reach overhead as needed
