Our company in Gowrie, Iowa is hiring a full-time CDL-A driver for a mix of local hopper runs and over-the-road hauling, with occasional nights away from home. The main work is belly dump and side dump trailers, plus some van trailer freight, and rock hauling picks up in the spring.
Pay
This role pays $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year.
What you'll haul
You'll move finished goods and raw materials both within Iowa and across state lines, switching between hopper/dump trailers and van trailers depending on the load.
Schedule
Expect a Monday-Friday schedule with some weekend work, and be ready to stay out overnight when a run requires it.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A
- At least 2 years of driving experience required; 3+ years preferred
- Clean driving record with no recent violations
- Must pass a drug screen
- Comfortable with GPS, AVL units, CB radios and similar in-cab tech
- Live within a few hours of Gowrie, IA, or be willing to relocate there
What you'll do
Beyond driving, you'll handle pre-trip and safety inspections, basic preventative maintenance, route planning, and logging your hours, mileage and receipts. You'll also enter data into the company's automated system during loading and unloading, position the truck for loading/unloading, confirm delivery details, and report any mechanical issues, accidents or violations. Keeping the truck and yourself clean and professional matters here.
