CDL-A Touring Event Truck Driver — Up to $2,500/Week

Averitt Express is looking for a CDL-A company driver in Houston, TX to join its Production and Event trucking team, hauling gear for concerts and live productions across the US and Canada. This posting comes through our company on behalf of Averitt.

Pay

• Tour pay starts at $1,800/week, with potential to reach $2,500/week as you take on more responsibility

• Between tours, you'll run regional freight at an average of $1,500/week, paid by the mile

• Your first 30 days are spent in the regional division on mileage-based pay before you can transfer into touring, salary-based pay

Schedule and home time

• Tour season runs March through October, with multi-week runs and limited time at home unless a route passes near where you live

• Off-season (November-February) you'll typically run regional, no-touch freight for steady income

What you'll haul

• Staging, lighting, and production equipment for major concerts and live event tours

• You'll help load and unload gear, securing it with straps and load bars, and often back into tight venue spots

• Night driving is common to hit strict show-related deadlines

• Once you're assigned to a tour, you're expected to see the full run through

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• One year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, including 6 months of entertainment-driving experience

• Class A CDL, with willingness to get a hazmat endorsement and complete flatbed certification

• A passport is required for Canadian routes (Averitt will reimburse the cost if needed)

• Clean driving history: no reckless driving, DUI/DWI, license suspension, or serious violations in the past several years, and no more than 3 moving violations in 3 years

• No preventable DOT-recordable accidents in the last 3 years
