CDL-A Regional Reefer Driver — 10–14 Days Out, $1,200–$1,400/Week

Drive a reefer for a major nationwide carrier on regional runs through TX, OK, LA, AR, MO, IN, IA, NE, IL, KS, CO, OH and NM. You'll be out 10-14 days at a stretch, running drop and hook or live load/unload freight with no touch required.

Pay

• Starting pay is $0.50 CPM, rising to $0.51 CPM after 6 months and $0.52 CPM after 12 months

• Drivers with experience start higher: $0.56 CPM with 2 years or less, $0.57 CPM for 3-4 years, $0.58 CPM for 5-6 years, and $0.59 CPM for 7+ years

• All miles are paid, plus $20.00 per stop

• Average haul length is 400 miles, with 2,200-2,400 miles per week

• Typical weekly earnings run $1,200-$1,400

• Experienced drivers get a $3,000 sign-on bonus, paid out at $300 a month over 10 months

• New trainees earn a flat $700 per week during the 4-week training period

Home time

Expect to be out 10-14 days, with 1 day off for every 6 days worked, up to 4 days off at a time.

What you'll haul

Reefer freight, drop and hook or live load/unload, no touch. You'll run late-model automatic Freightliner Cascadias.

Requirements

• Either 1 year of 53' tractor trailer OTR experience within the last 3 years, or 6 months OTR experience plus 120 hours from an accredited truck driving school

• New CDL holders are welcome if they finished school within the last 6 months and have no driving experience

• Valid CDL required

• A TWIC card is required; the carrier will help you get one and cover the associated costs

• No criminal record, and no drug or alcohol violations

• No preventable accidents or moving violations, ever, and a clean MVR with no tickets

• Your CDL address needs to match the hiring area

• Urine drug screening only; SAP drivers are not accepted
