About this job
Our company in Bakersfield, CA is looking for a CDL-A driver to haul freight over the road, including refrigerated loads, flatbed, tanker and hazmat shipments.
Pay
- $2,500.00 - $3,000.00 per week
What you'll haul
- Tractor-trailers including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker and other specialized trailers
- Freight that may include hazardous materials and dangerous goods, following all required safety rules
- You'll load and unload cargo by hand at times, so you need to handle freight safely and keep it secure
What the job involves
- Running OTR routes and using GPS to plan the best path and stay on schedule
- Keeping accurate records of your hours, deliveries and vehicle checks per FMCSA and DOT rules
- Doing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to catch maintenance or safety problems early
- Filling out load manifests, delivery receipts and other shipment paperwork
- Staying in touch with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery times and sort out any issues
Requirements
- CDL-A with solid commercial driving experience
- Comfortable handling hazmat, tanker and flatbed loads
- Able to drive a manual transmission truck
- Familiar with FMCSA and DOT regulations, plus hazmat rules
- Confident with GPS routing and freight/logistics handling
