CDL-A OTR Reefer Team Driver — $0.60–$0.68 CPM, No-Touch Freight

Our company in Tracy, CA is looking for experienced CDL-A team drivers to run consistent refrigerated freight between Northern California/the Bay Area and Houston, Texas, with loads returning toward California. You can apply with your own co-driver or be matched with one of our company drivers based on experience and fit.

Pay

• $0.60 to $0.68 per mile, depending on experience, driving record, safety history and reefer background

• All dispatched miles are paid

• Weekly paydays

• Detention, layover and extra-stop pay when those situations apply

• Safety and performance bonuses on top of mileage pay, including $100 for qualifying clean scale and inspection results

• Posted weekly earnings range: $2,800.00 to $3,500.00

The lane

• Runs mainly between Northern California/Bay Area and Houston, Texas, typically routed through Arizona and New Mexico

• Freight comes back toward California on the return trip

• Occasional route changes depending on customer needs and freight volume

What you'll haul

• Full truckload, temperature-controlled reefer freight, mostly frozen goods

• 100% no-touch

• You'll be responsible for checking reefer temperature, fuel level, alarms, trailer seals and overall trailer condition throughout the trip, sharing that duty with your co-driver

Team setup

Two CDL-A drivers are paired to one truck so it can keep moving while each driver takes required off-duty or sleeper-berth rest. You'll need to be comfortable sharing a sleeper cab, trading off driving shifts, keeping the truck clean, coordinating fueling and stops, and respecting your partner's rest time. This setup lets the truck rack up more miles than a solo driver could cover alone.

Equipment

• 2024 or newer Freightliner Cascadia tractors with automatic transmissions and sleeper cabs

• You'll generally keep the same assigned truck

• Equipped with ELD, GPS and current safety tech

• Company fuel card provided

• Refrigerated trailers, kept in good condition

What's expected of you

You'll run thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections (tires, brakes, lights, fluids, fifth wheel, reefer unit and more), report any issues right away, keep accurate ELD logs, trip-plan your runs, stay in touch with dispatch about pickups, deliveries and delays, keep paperwork and bills of lading in order, verify seals and cargo security, and follow all DOT, FMCSA and Hours of Service rules.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• OTR and reefer experience preferred; team experience is a plus but not required

• Current DOT medical card

• Clean enough MVR, PSP and safety record to meet insurance requirements

• Able to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing

• Solid grasp of Hours of Service rules

• Comfortable with long-distance routes and sharing a sleeper cab with a partner

• Smartphone for dispatch communication

Home time

This is a full-time, high-mileage OTR team position with regular trips back toward California. Actual time home depends on freight demand, customer schedules, weather, equipment and Hours of Service limits.
