CDL-A OTR Heavy Haul Driver — $52,000–$65,000/yr

Our company, a family-owned agricultural company based in southern Minnesota, needs a reliable CDL-A driver to haul heavy equipment and ag machinery across the country. You'll run oversized and overweight loads on specialized trailers, spending extended time on the road with overnight stays.

What you'll haul

• Heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, and other materials to locations throughout the country

• Loads pulled with semi-trucks and specialized trailers such as lowboy, RGN, and step-deck, depending on the assignment

• Oversized and overweight freight, so you'll handle permits and follow federal and state rules for these loads

What you'll do

• Plan routes around bridge limits, clearances, load size, and road conditions

• Inspect, load, secure, unload, and transport equipment correctly

• Run pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip checks on your truck and trailer

• Keep accurate logs, bills of lading, permits, and inspection paperwork

• Stay in touch with the Transportation Manager on scheduling, delivery status, route changes, and any equipment issues

• Work professionally with customers, dispatch, jobsite contacts, and other transport partners

• Keep your assigned equipment clean and in good shape, handle basic maintenance, and report mechanical problems right away

• Follow DOT, FMCSA, and all company and customer safety rules

• Take on other transportation tasks as needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Clean driving record that meets DOT qualifications

• A passport and the ability to cross into Canada

• OTR experience is preferred

• Experience with heavy haul, oversized, or overweight loads is a plus

• Familiarity with specialized trailers is a plus

• Willingness to travel nationwide and stay out for extended stretches, including overnight

• Flexibility with scheduling based on transportation and customer demands

• Comfortable working independently and staying in professional contact while on the road

$52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
