About this job
Our company in Omaha, NE is looking for a CDL-A driver to run over-the-road routes hauling dump trucks, side dumps and belly dumps. You'll handle specialized loads while keeping deliveries on time and within safety rules.
Pay
- From $20.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
What you'll haul
- Dump trucks, side dumps, belly dumps and other specialized equipment
- Occasional hazardous materials, handled per DOT and hazmat rules
- Vehicle transport and specialty load assignments
What you'll do
- Run long-distance OTR routes, planning with GPS to stay on schedule and manage fuel use
- Load, unload and secure freight by hand, meeting FMCSA cargo standards
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm the truck meets FMCSA and DOT requirements
- Log hours, cargo and route details accurately per FMCSA rules
- Stay in touch about route changes, delivery timing and any issues on the road
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A; prior commercial driving experience preferred, but the company will train a dedicated candidate without experience
- Solid knowledge of FMCSA, DOT and hazmat regulations and safety practices
- Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks and doing manual freight handling
- Strong, safety-focused driving skills for OTR work
