About this job
Our company is looking for a solo CDL-A driver to run a local route in Pompano Beach, FL, delivering HVAC equipment along the East Coast between Vero Beach and Key West. You'll be home every day.
Pay
- $28.92 per hour, paid weekly
- 40 to 45 hours per week
- Quarterly performance bonus of $500, four times a year
- Paid training
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, with rare Saturdays
- Start time between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM
- Local route, home daily
What you'll haul
- HVAC equipment, touch freight
- Day cab tractor pulling a 26' straight truck, both manual and automatic transmission required
- Dry van trailers, 48' and 53'
- Hand truck, pallet jack, and lift gate provided
- Hazmat endorsement required
- Trucks are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside support and fueling at over 800 maintenance locations nationwide
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with required endorsements
- At least 21 years old
- Box truck experience required
- Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years
- Must pass a drug test, background check, motor vehicle record review, DOT physical, and road test
- Previous employer drug and alcohol verification covering the last 3 years
- Able to follow instructions and apply relevant laws, rules, and procedures
- Some assignments may require added screening, such as employment or education checks, driving record review, a road test, or customer badging requirements
What you'll do
- Follow applicable federal, state, and company safety rules and standards
- Spot and address safety hazards
- Keep accurate logs and records
- Help load and unload freight when the customer requires it
- Handle other assigned duties
