CDL-A Local Retail Driver — Average $1,200/Week, No-Touch Freight

Haul dedicated retail freight out of Shafter, CA on a no-touch local and regional route. You'll swap trailers at store locations and run nights, with one set day off every week.

Pay

• Average weekly earnings: $1,200

• Mileage pay scales with experience: under 1 year at $0.57 CPM, 1 year at $0.59 CPM, 2 years at $0.61 CPM, 3 years at $0.63 CPM, 4 years at $0.65 CPM, 5+ years at $0.68 CPM

• Extra $20 on loads shorter than 100 miles

• Extra $15 for each qualifying sweep or backhaul

Schedule and home time

• Runs overnight, with operations going around the clock

• Expect 5 to 6 workdays most weeks depending on freight volume

• One fixed day off weekly

• Usually home each day, though some nights out may come up depending on customer needs and freight loads

• Weekend and holiday availability required

What you'll haul

• Dedicated retail freight, no touching required - you just swap trailers at stores

• Routes cover the Central Valley of California, the Los Angeles area, and Las Vegas, NV

• Average around 2,000 miles weekly

• You'll lock trailers at stops using kingpin locks the store provides

• Trucks stay at the distribution center; you'll need your own way to get there and back

Requirements

• Class A CDL, valid

• At least 1 year driving tractor-trailers

• Clean driving history

• Current DOT medical card

• SAP drivers not accepted

• Able to lift 15 to 20 pounds for securing trailers

• Own reliable transportation to the distribution center

• Open to night shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights
