CDL-A Local Driver — Home Nightly

Lawrence Paper Company in Lawrence, KS is looking for a local CDL-A driver for its Shipping & Receiving team. You'll run local/regional routes on first shift and be home every night.

What you'll do

• Drive a commercial vehicle on local routes, getting deliveries there on time

• Load and unload freight carefully and correctly

• Follow traffic laws and your assigned route

• Keep accurate logs and delivery paperwork

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

• Stay in regular contact with dispatch, yard staff and supervisors

• Drive manual transmission equipment when needed

• Treat customers well at every delivery stop

• Follow safety best practices and take on other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Solid knowledge of route driving

• At least 2 years of truck driving experience

• No serious violations or accidents in the past 5 years, and no DWI/DUI in the past 10 years

• Comfortable operating a tractor-trailer

• Willing to work in any weather

• Detail-oriented with good organization for logs and records

• Focused on safety and quality

• Strong customer service skills

• Reliable and able to work with minimal supervision

• Basic computer skills
