About this job
Our company in Carlisle, PA is hiring CDL-A road drivers for long-distance linehaul work. You will move trailers between service centers on routes that keep you traveling most of the time.
Pay
- Union pay under the Teamster scale, with an over-the-road mileage rate.
- Listed as an hourly position, paid every week.
What you'll do
- Hook up and drop trailers and tractors.
- Check in, inspect your tractor and trailer, set up the tractor and run pickups and deliveries.
- Spend long stretches behind the wheel; travel is 75% or more of the job.
- Exact duties and schedule depend on the terminal.
Requirements
- Class A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements.
- 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience; applicants with less may be considered for training.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years old.
- Stable work history and a safe driving record, checked through your MVR and past employers.
- Able to pass a DOT drug screen and meet DOT medical standards.
- Flexible availability: shifts may be days, nights or weekends depending on the location.
Equipment
- Road tractors average under 18 months old, with air conditioning and power steering.
- All equipment is covered by a preventive maintenance program.
