About this job
Our company LLC, in partnership with MTE-Leasing, is offering a lease-purchase opportunity for CDL-A drivers who want to own their truck and run OTR lanes across the lower 48 states. Pay is based on an 80/20 gross split, with weekly settlements averaging around $6,500 gross before lease and expenses are deducted.
Pay
You keep 80% of gross revenue under this lease-purchase plan. Weekly gross is estimated around $6,500 on average, though actual earnings depend on miles run. A sign-on bonus of $500 pays out after your first 9,000 miles. Extra weekly bonuses are available based on loaded miles: $100 for 2,100 miles, $225 for 2,300 miles, $275 for 2,500 miles, and $350 for 2,800 miles. Weekly pay advances of up to $200 are available, and settlements go out by direct deposit with no delay.
Home time
There's no forced dispatch here - you choose your own loads and decide how often you head home.
What you'll haul
Expect dry van, no-touch freight, with about 70% drop-and-hook. No hazmat loads, and no runs into Canada or Mexico. Driver-assist loads are optional if you want them.
Lease details
Trucks are 2023-or-newer Freightliner Cascadias or Kenworth T680s, still under factory warranty, with a 7-day initial trial period. You'll need $5,000 down (a loan option is available at $300/week), and weekly lease payments range from $750 for a 2023 model (3-year term) up to $950 for a 2025 model (4-year term). There's no credit check and no interest charged on the lease - it runs on a Common Revenue Target basis - though a $15,000 balloon/residual payment is due at the end. As the lessee, you're responsible for plates/registration, fuel card, physical insurance, HWY 2290/IRP, and IFTA reporting.
Requirements
You'll need at least 3 months of recent, verifiable Class A experience pulling 48-53 foot trailers, a valid CDL, and a current DOT medical card attached to your license. Applicants must live in one of the approved states: AL, AR, CT, DE, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, KY, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, NE, NH, NJ, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WV, or WI. SAP applicants are welcome to apply as long as Step 5 of the Return-to-Duty process is complete (a C/TPA can be used to finish this step).
Benefits
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, so no company benefits are included - but you can purchase additional coverage on your own. Fuel and maintenance discounts are available (amounts vary by location), and the policy allows for one rider and one pet dog.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
