About this job
This is a local, home-daily intermodal driving job out of Bell Gardens, CA, hauling containers on a chassis between rail ramps around the LA basin. You work five days a week with your choice of schedule and are paid hourly plus a per-stop bonus.
Pay
- $19.25 per hour
- $18.71 per stop
- Drivers typically earn $1,400 to $1,800 a week
- Extra days are optional, never required
Home time
- Home every night
- Choose Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, day or night shift
What you'll haul
- Intermodal containers on a chassis
- Routes connect five rail ramps: Long Beach, Los Angeles, Commerce, City of Industry and Bloomington
- Some routes run up the Grapevine to Shafter and Lebec
- Mix of preloads and live freight, no touch freight
- Truck is based at the yard in Bell Gardens; dispatch assigns your routes automatically
Requirements
- Class A CDL from your state of residence
- At least 3 months of verifiable driving experience
- Live within 15 miles of Bell Gardens
- 21 years or older
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no DUI/DWI in 10 years
- Pass DOT physical and drug screen
