About this job
Our company needs CDL-A drivers for flatbed or dry van work near Atlanta, Georgia. You'll get steady freight and frequent time at home, with weekly pay in the $1,400–$1,600 range.
Pay
- Weekly earnings of $1,400–$1,600
- Flatbed: $85 per load plus $0.52 per empty mile
- Dry van: $0.60 per mile, based on experience, with a 2,500-mile weekly minimum
What you'll haul
- Flatbed runs stay within Georgia, with freight usually staged ahead of time by linehaul drivers so you can often complete up to 3 deliveries a day
- Dry van loads are drop-and-hook at both ends, so there's no sitting around to load or unload
Home time
- You'll be home most days, though trucking schedules can sometimes shift this
Bonuses and extra pay
- Sign-on bonus of $1,000 for drivers with a year of tractor-trailer experience, or $2,000 for those with recent flatbed experience (requires one year at your previous employer)
- Paid training runs 2–7 weeks; experienced drivers (1+ years) can make up to $1,000 a week while training
- Quarterly safety and performance bonus up to $600
- Annual seniority bonus between $500 and $2,500
- New CDL grads (from a school other than Cypress's) can get up to $5,000 in tuition reimbursement, paid out at $100 monthly, if Cypress is their first employer
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 1 year of CDL-A driving experience
- Must pass a hair follicle drug test covering the past 12 months
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 5 years on your MVR
- No more than 1 speeding ticket in the last 3 years, and none over 15 MPH above the limit in the last 5 years
- No preventable rear-end accidents in the last 5 years
