About this job
Our company, a regional feed manufacturer in Keota, OK, needs a CDL-A driver to deliver bulk feed, bagged feed and supplements to customers within about a 200-mile radius. You'll be home every night.
What you'll haul
- Bulk feed, bagged feed and feed supplements for livestock producers
- You may drive heavy trucks and trailers, bobtail feed trucks, or pickups pulling trailers
- Finished goods and raw materials moved between plants, retail sites and distribution centers
What you'll do
- Deliver orders safely and collect payment when required, acting as the main point of contact with customers
- Unload feed at the spot the customer requests, when it's safe to do so
- Stay in touch with your supervisor by phone or radio for instructions and updates
- Check your truck before and after trips (tires, lights, brakes, fluids) and flag any mechanical or safety concerns
- Keep accurate logs covering hours of service, mileage and inspections
- Plan your route to hit delivery windows and follow size, weight, parking and break rules
- Back trucks into loading and unloading spots, and report any defects, accidents or violations
- Handle related tasks such as running trailer hydraulics and setting up equipment for each delivery
Schedule
- Home every night
- Weekend work on a rotating, seasonal basis is expected
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Around 2 years of tractor-trailer experience preferred
- At least 21 years old
- Able to read and speak English
- Medically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle, able to climb ladders to unload feed and check bins, and able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable with electronic logging devices and GPS
- Clean driving record: no serious violations in the last 3 years, no more than 3 moving violations in 3 years (or 2 in the last 12 months), and no more than 1 preventable accident involving injury, fatality or towed vehicle in the last 3 years
- No convictions for a criminal offense involving a commercial vehicle
- Must pass background and drug screening and provide references
