CDL-A Driver — USPS Drop-and-Hook Freight

McSheer Truck'in is hiring CDL-A drivers across all experience levels, from brand-new license holders to seasoned OTR professionals. Your exact position, route, and home-time schedule will depend on your ZIP code, experience level, and preferences.

Pay and experience tiers

• Trainee (under 3 months Class A experience): approximately $700 weekly, no prior driving experience needed, just a physical Class A CDL or one expected soon; paid training is offered and this track is built for new CDL graduates

• Local (3+ months experience): approximately $1,400 weekly, home every day, steady local routes, with some dedicated accounts; availability tied to your ZIP code

• Regional (4+ months experience): approximately $1,800 weekly, home every few days or weekly depending on the account, consistent regional lanes, some dedicated freight; home time varies by location and account

• OTR Dedicated (6+ months experience): approximately $2,300 weekly, dedicated freight on consistent routes, strong pay potential, but a tougher home-time schedule; hiring happens nationwide

• OTR USPS (2+ years experience): approximately $2,300 weekly, hauling USPS contract freight on steady, year-round routes, with solid earning potential; this track is open to drivers from nearly every state and major city

What you'll haul

Most freight comes from USPS contracts and dedicated accounts, and it's mostly drop-and-hook with little to no loading or unloading involved. Routes run consistently throughout the year.

Where you'll run

Routes are concentrated east of I-35, covering the Midwest, South, and Southeast. There's no West Coast work and no New York City routes.

Equipment

You'll drive newer trucks from the 2022 to 2026 model years, kept in good working condition. Which truck you get depends on your account and what's available.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL (or one you expect to receive soon, for trainees)

• Minimum experience varies by track: under 3 months for trainee roles, 3+ months for local, 4+ months for regional, 6+ months for OTR dedicated, and 2+ years for OTR USPS work
