About this job
Our company is looking for new and experienced CDL-A drivers in Fairfield, CA to run a western regional dry van fleet. Routes stay short, usually no more than 2 days from home, and new CDL holders get paid, hands-on training before moving into their own truck.
Getting started
If you hold a CDL-A but have no driving experience, you'll first ride along with a driver trainer on actual loads, earning $650 per week during this stage. Once your trainer clears you, you'll move into your own truck at full pay, with $1,000 per week guaranteed for your first 3 months running solo.
If you already have 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years, you can skip the training phase and start in your own truck right away.
What you'll haul
You'll run dry van freight throughout the 11 western states, covering 1,700 to 2,100 miles weekly. You'll be home every 2 weeks, and if you want extra miles, you can opt to run beyond the western region.
Pay
- Weekly earnings typically range from $1,000 to $1,300
- Mileage pay increases as you gain experience
- Performance bonus of up to 6 cents per mile
- $15 paid per stop
- $300 orientation pay, plus your travel to orientation is covered
Benefits
- Medical, dental and vision coverage starting after 30 days
- 401k with a company match
- Paid time off
Requirements
- Class A CDL, age 21 or older
- New CDL holders need 120+ hours of training from an accredited CDL school
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
- Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen
