About this job
Our company hauls its own product, running local and dedicated out-and-back routes out of New Iberia, LA. Drivers are typically home during the week and off most weekends.
Pay
- $62,000.00 to $93,000.00 per year
What you'll haul
- Company-owned product, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds and tankers
- Some loads involve hazardous materials, handled under required safety rules
- Food grade tanker experience is a plus, but ALT will train the right candidate on tanker work
Home time
- Local and dedicated out-and-back routes
- Home during the week, off most weekends
What you'll do
- Operate tractor-trailers safely on assigned routes, including some OTR runs
- Handle loading and unloading of freight using proper cargo procedures
- Use GPS for route planning while following DOT and FMCSA rules
- Keep accurate records of hours, deliveries and inspections
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report any issues
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial truck driving, delivery and route work
- Comfortable with manual transmission and manual freight handling
- Understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Strong GPS navigation skills
- Freight handling and loading/unloading experience preferred
