Home time
You'll be home every day for most of the year. During the busy season from October through December, expect to be out 2 to 3 nights a week.
What you'll haul
You'll deliver to about 40 store locations across the Central Valley, the LA basin and Las Vegas. It's a round-the-clock operation, so nights, weekends and holidays are part of the job.
Training and equipment
New drivers spend 4 to 6 weeks riding with a trainer, learning backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, while earning $680 to $850 weekly. After that, you get your own assigned truck, averaging about 1.5 years old, either automatic or 10-speed. Orientation lasts no more than 2 days, with your hotel covered and a one-way bus ticket reimbursed.
Requirements
- Class A CDL, age 21 or older
- New drivers need a certificate from a school of at least 120 hours, or 6 months of recent driving experience
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years, and no DUI/DWI in the past 10
- Must pass a DOT physical and a drug screening (hair and urine)
- Live within 40 miles of Shafter (Delano, Wasco, McFarland and Bakersfield all qualify)
Benefits
After 30 days, you're eligible for medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, a 401(k) with an employee stock plan, paid time off with annual raises, a tuition-free online degree program for you and one family member, plus rider and pet programs (dogs allowed once training is complete).
This employer is an equal opportunity employer.
