About this job
Our company, a Forward Air contractor based in Wauchula, FL, needs a dependable CDL-A driver for a dedicated route running three round trips a week to the Atlanta area, departing Lakeland Monday evening and returning Sunday morning. Pay runs $1,550 - $1,650 a week.
What you'll haul
- Freight moved drop and hook, with live loading or unloading less than 1% of the time
What you'll do
- Drive safely in line with DOT and FMCSA rules
- Get freight to its destination on schedule
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and note any mechanical problems
- Keep logs, trip reports and delivery paperwork up to date
- Stay in touch with dispatch about route changes or delays
- Keep your truck clean and organized
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A
- Clean driving record and acceptable MVR
- Able to pass DOT physical and medical certification
- At least 2 years of recent OTR experience
- Solid grasp of traffic laws and DOT rules
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own time on the road
