About this job
Our company in Hackney, KS needs a CDL-A driver to deliver grain, fertilizer, feed and other co-op products to customers, while keeping the delivery truck in good working order.
What you'll do
- Call on customers and deliver grain, fertilizer, feed and related products
- Load and unload the truck following safety rules
- Keep up with vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical problems
- Write up sales tickets and receipts, keep customer records in your route book, and maintain your truck log per DOT rules
- Handle customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally
- Follow all safety procedures and state/federal regulations
Requirements
- Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker, Airbrakes and Hazmat endorsements
- High school diploma or GED, or three months of related experience/training, or an equivalent mix of both
- Basic computer skills
- Able to read safety rules, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Comfortable with basic math (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals)
- Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally
- Able to climb ladders (sometimes 20 to 180 feet), stairs, and get into large vehicles or tractors
- This is a safety-sensitive role involving vehicle operation and handling of hazardous materials
Work conditions
You'll work around moving machinery, fumes, outdoor weather extremes, and occasional wet or high-up conditions. Noise levels are generally loud. Our company is an EOE/ADA employer.
