CDL-A Delivery Driver — Avg. $118,000/yr, Home Within 36 Hours

SYGMA Northern California, part of our company, is looking for a CDL-A tractor-trailer driver in Stockton, CA to deliver foodservice products to customers. You'll run 4-5 routes per week and be away from home no more than 36 hours at a stretch, with dispatch mostly in the evenings, Sunday through Friday.

Pay

• Drivers average approximately $118,000 per year, with many earning over $140,000, and top performers have made over $190,000

• You're guaranteed at least $1,400 per week just for being available to work

• Pay is route pay plus incentives

• You may also qualify for the company's incentive plan

Home time

• Trips keep you away from home no more than 36 hours at a time

• Expect roughly 4 to 5 routes each week

What you'll haul

• You'll drive a tractor-trailer (3-axle tractor with a 45' to 48' trailer, or a straight truck) carrying frozen, dry and refrigerated foodservice goods from the warehouse to customer sites

• Duties include hand-unloading with a two-wheeled cart onto docks, ramps or stairs in any weather, scanning deliveries, handling damaged goods and returns, and occasional backhaul or line-haul transport

• You'll also complete DOT logs, inspection reports, and delivery paperwork daily, and follow food safety procedures like keeping proper trailer temperatures and avoiding cross-contamination

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, and you must be insurable to drive for the company

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred, plus a year of tractor-trailer experience; truck driving school can substitute for the diploma

• Strong enough English skills to read road signs, communicate with the public, and complete reports

• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds by hand and pushing or pulling up to 350 pounds on a hand cart, climbing in and out of the cab and trailer, and working in varying weather, including occasional heat, cold, wet conditions or confined spaces

• Willing to work an overnight schedule, including weekends, holidays, on-call time and overtime as needed
