Home time
You'll be home twice a week, with a 34-hour reset at your house. For example, a Friday delivery to Utah typically puts you home Saturday night.
What you'll haul
This is store delivery work on regional routes connecting Phoenix, Southern California, Nevada and Utah, usually with early morning drop-offs. Expect hands-on unloading using a liftgate and roll carts.
Getting started
Once you apply, a recruiter reviews your license and driving history with you by phone. Orientation runs up to 2 days, with your hotel paid for, your one-way bus fare reimbursed, and a $300 payment once you're hired. From there, you'll spend 4 to 6 weeks training alongside a mentor who walks you through backing, trip planning, logbooks and fueling, earning $850 weekly during this stretch. After that, you move into your own truck from a fleet averaging about 1.5 years old, with both 10-speed manuals and automatics in the mix.
Common questions from new drivers
- Worried about backing skills? That's expected early on, and you'll get weeks of mentor-guided practice before driving solo.
- One ticket on your record won't automatically rule you out. Up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years is acceptable.
- Orientation costs you nothing. Your hotel is covered, bus fare reimbursed, and you'll receive $300 after being hired.
- Home time is twice weekly.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Class A CDL required; new graduates need a minimum of 120 training hours, or you can qualify with 6 months of recent driving experience
- No DUI or DWI within the past 10 years, and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
- Must pass a DOT physical along with a hair and urine drug test
Benefits
Coverage kicks in after 30 days and includes medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, a 401(k), an employee stock purchase plan, paid vacation and annual raises. You and a family member can also access a free online degree program. Pets and riders are welcome, and trainees may bring a dog once training wraps up.
