CDL-A/B Residential Side Loader Driver — $32.41–$36.41/hr

Athens Services in City of Industry, CA is looking for a Side Loader driver to run residential, recycling, and commercial routes in a heavy-duty truck. You'll handle container collection and disposal while following all safety and transportation rules.

Pay

• $32.41 to $36.41 per hour

What you'll do

• Drive a heavy-duty side loader on residential, recycling, commercial, or roll-off routes

• Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle checks and report any issues to your Route Supervisor, Dispatch, or Maintenance

• Keep the truck clean, including clearing waste from the packer blade and body after each disposal run

• Fully empty every container, leave customer sites clean, and set containers back in place properly

• Flag contaminated waste containers and follow proper disposal procedures at the Material Recovery Facility

• Clean up any accidental spills according to safety guidelines

• Report accidents, injuries, or property damage to your supervisor right away

• Relay customer issues to Dispatch or your Route Supervisor and finish route paperwork at day's end

• Attend required safety meetings and training, and wear all required protective equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid Class A or B driver's license

• At least 1 year of experience driving a side loader vehicle

• Able to meet all DOT requirements

• Strong customer service and time management skills

• Able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including frequently lifting up to 75 lb, pushing and pulling bins (some over 1000 lb) over hills and rough terrain, and climbing in and out of the truck as often as 150 times a day

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and around dust, fumes, noise, and traffic

Preferred: age 21 or older, bilingual in English and Spanish, 3+ years driving a commercial vehicle, prior experience in waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation, and a clean driving record.
