CDL-A/B Portables Driver — Air-Brake Endorsement Required

WM is hiring a CDL driver for portable waste and recycling routes in Kansas City, KS. You'll handle commercial, residential, or roll-off collection depending on your assigned route, operating heavy-duty trucks with lift attachments to haul material to disposal, transfer, or recycling sites.

What you'll do

• Pick up and empty containers (some over 1,000 pounds) for commercial, residential, or roll-off customers

• Maneuver trucks through tight driveways, alleys, lots, and congested streets, using strong backing skills

• Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and DVIR paperwork

• Report safety concerns, service interruptions, accidents, or customer requests to your Operations Manager or Dispatch

• Leave each stop clean and free of debris, and finish routes with proper end-of-day checkout

• Help cover other routes when needed and take part in required training and safety meetings

Requirements

• CDL Class A or Class B with air-brake endorsement

• At least 1 year of experience driving a vehicle that required a CDL, or 1 year of equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years

• Minimum age 18, legally authorized to work in the country

• English proficiency sufficient for reading signs, responding to officials, and completing reports

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random and post-incident checks, as this is a safety-sensitive role
