About this job
Our company needs an OTR driver to run a 26ft box truck across all 48 states. You'll be on the road full-time, including overnight stays away from home.
Pay
- $0.25 to $0.40 per mile
What you'll haul
- General freight and logistics cargo in a 26ft box truck
- You'll load and unload freight by hand and make sure it's secured properly for the trip
Routes and schedule
- Long-haul routes covering all 48 contiguous states
- Expect day, night and overnight driving, plus full-time travel away from home
Requirements
- At least 2 years of multi-state OTR driving experience
- Valid driver's license
- Solid understanding of FMCSA and DOT rules, including hazmat regulations where they apply
- Comfortable with manual transmission trucks and manual loading/unloading
- Able to use GPS to plan routes and track deliveries in real time
- Based in or able to work out of Los Angeles, CA
- Willing to travel 100% of the time
What the job involves
- Running pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to keep the truck safe and compliant
- Keeping accurate logs, delivery paperwork and incident reports per DOT rules
- Staying in touch with dispatch about schedules, route changes and any issues on the road
