About this job
Our company (PDI Group) is looking for an experienced AZ driver to haul heavy equipment to demolition project sites across the GTA and throughout Ontario using a float trailer and manual transmission truck.
What you'll haul
- Heavy machinery and equipment on a float trailer to job sites
Requirements
- Valid AZ license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks
- Class 1 air brake endorsement with at least 5 years behind the wheel
- Hands-on experience loading, securing and unloading heavy machinery
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to off-site locations as needed
- Willing to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime
- Steel-toed boots and other safety gear required
- Daily electronic logging of driving hours, as Ontario's Ministry of Transportation requires
What you'll do
- Move heavy equipment safely to and from demolition sites
- Secure and balance loads properly for transport
- Run pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections and flag maintenance issues
- Stay on top of traffic laws, safety rules and environmental regulations
- Keep in close contact with dispatch, clients and site crews to manage pickups and deliveries
