About this job
Our company needs experienced Class 1 highway drivers based out of Halifax, NS to run Dry Van freight across Canada and the US. Pay rates have just gone up, giving company drivers stronger earning potential. You can be based anywhere in the Atlantic provinces, with the Halifax terminal as your home base.
The role
This is full-time cross-border work hauling Dry Van loads between Canada and the United States. Operations run 24/7, and you'll typically be out on the road for 7 to 10 days at a stretch.
What you'll do
- Move freight across the Canada/US border
- Stay on top of safety rules, compliance standards and border requirements
- Handle dispatched loads efficiently and professionally
- Keep your logs and paperwork accurate and up to date
Requirements
- Valid AZ or Class 1 licence
- At least 2 years of verified driving experience in Canada and the US
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Clean criminal record check, since this is needed for crossing the border
- Willing and able to cross into the US on a regular basis
- Able to be out in the truck for 7 to 10 days in a row
- FAST Card is a plus
