5 Ton Refrigerated Truck Driver — Weekday Routes, $24.83/hr

Our company in Dartmouth, NS needs an experienced driver to run weekday delivery routes across the Maritime provinces, hauling refrigerated floral products in a 5 ton truck to grocery markets.

Pay

• $24.83 per hour

Schedule

• Regularly scheduled weekday delivery routes within the Maritimes

• Drivers with a Class 1 licence and experience may be considered for future openings

What you'll haul

• Floral bouquets delivered to grocery markets, kept cold in a late model refrigerated 5 ton truck

What you'll do

• Plan your route, load and secure the freight, and keep an eye on temperature along the way

• Drive safely, following company rules and all local laws

• Keep accurate electronic logs, invoices and delivery paperwork

• Do pre-trip, en route and post-trip vehicle checks, plus routine upkeep

• Stay in touch with customers, sales and logistics to keep service running smoothly

• Keep the truck, yourself and the load secure on the road

Requirements

• At least 3 years of commercial driving experience with air-braked vehicles of 5 ton size or larger, in a regional delivery setting

• A clean driving abstract for the past 5 years, plus a solid safety and reliability record going back at least 3 years

• Air brake endorsement

• Able to handle freight physically: hand jacks, pallets, wheeled carts, stairs, ladders, ramps, and lifting boxes up to 50 lbs

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a track record of building good customer relationships
